Composer Elliot Roman (b.1999), a multifaceted composer, pianist, flutist, and conductor based in New York City is writing a new work inspired by a trio of Wayne Thiebaud’s paintings that will premiere early in 2024.
Debra Ayers, pianist & director of Montage Music Society is enthusiastic about Montage Music Society’s latest commission inspired by visual art. “Elliot is a fine pianist, a very accomplished young composer with a wonderful sense of imagination and we both love Wayne Thiebaud’s Cityscapes. Additionally, here in Montage’s home of Santa Fe, we enjoy connections to two former Thiebaud students, Gretchen Guard and Fritz Scholder.” (more)
